Aircraft Structural Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Remote (Part-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting Aircraft Structural SME’s (Sheet metal technicians) to perform various support tasks to include, but not limited to, maintenance and modification of F-16 structural sections of the aircraft, use of precision tooling to exact dimensions, understanding of aircraft technical data systems, ability to lead teams and train individuals on aircraft repair and modification, if necessary. This position also requires the individual to be able to read and understand detailed drawings for component and system level designs. This position will require a skill bank of numerous technical skills. This individual should possess good time management skills, be able to adapt to shifting priorities, be a self-starter and able to problem solve.  This part-time position is suited for in the field and back shop performance with remote work flexibility.

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma
  • 10 or more years of related experience (F-16 preferred). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Aircraft structural repair (F-16 aircraft highly desired)
  • Assist in developing processes for various aircraft modifications and repairs
  • Support the design and prototyping of tooling and fixtures for aircraft structural repair
  • Complete structural modifications and upgrades to F-16 aircraft

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Maintenance overhaul processes
  • How to use Sheetmetal hand tools (drills, high strength rivet guns, sealant guns, precision tooling and fixtures 
  • Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings 
  • General shop experience
  • Safe for maintenance practices
  • Problem solving skills
  • Computer and system skills

Work Environment

ES3 is an ISO9001 and AS9100D certified part manufacturer. We have offices throughout the United States. We maintain a clean professional working environment for all our employees. All computers, tools, and equipment necessary to complete tasks are provided by the company. The buildings have LED lighting, heating, and central air conditioning. We desire an employee that works well with others and provides an exceptional work ethic to produce results.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position. Hours of work are typically Monday through Friday. Flexible schedule and remote work are optional. Hours may vary and are dependent upon assigned tasks.

Travel

  • Ability to travel is required.  
  • Travel will include some within the United States and extended international travel.

Other Requirements

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Existing Secret Security Clearance is desirable
